Chicago born drummer, percussionist, audio engineer, Michael Hojnacki creates grooves with an underlying dance. From intertwining rhythms to simple beats, he uses sensitivity, feeling and color, bringing a full breadth of sound from the drums. In addition, Michael utilizes his production and audio engineering background to explore timbres and sounds, implementing them to add depth, subtitles, and edge to his drumming. As an audio engineer, Michael’s practice focuses on mic placement and mic selection to capture the tone and essence of the instrument for the song, capturing “the flame” of the sound.

Michael is the lead audio engineer of Seawall Sessions.
